Monika joined Alpheus at the beginning of 2022, as a consultant. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Zagreb and an MA in International Relations from the Central European University in Budapest. Immediately after graduation, she started working in diplomacy, which ended up being an 11 year long adventure. She spent two years working for the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, during the time when Croatian was joining the EU. Monika spent most of her professional career working for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, at the British Embassy in Zagreb. While at the Embassy, she spent five years on the position of Trade Adviser, as a part of a regional team that collaborated with the most prominent UK companies and the Croatian government. After that, she worked as Project Manager for the Political Section team, where she dedicated a good portion of her time on sustainability projects. She is particularly proud of making the British Embassy Zagreb the world’s first carbon literate embassy and she has also initiated the green-tech hackathon, an annual event attracting green start-ups and helping them find investors. In her free time, Monika loves travelling, reading and doing yoga and she adores her family, friends and her husband Neven.
